This past Saturday, July 10, 2010 I had a “gathering” at my house….approximately 60 people!! Everyone is always telling us how much they love our Tiki Hut so I thought we would have a party in honor of it! lol Back in June I created the invitation using the Stampin’ Up! stamp set – Tropical Party. Here is the invite!
I went all out with decorations, games and contests. My awesome husband, Paul, made us an official limbo game and our guests had a ball! Here is a photo of the limbo winner!…my neighbor Lisa.
The hut itself was built by my husband Paul and I back in 2006. Although we have had a few “get togethers” sitting at the Tiki Hut and enjoying a fire with a few close friends, we have never had anything of this magnitude. Here is the “Hut” before any of the guests arrived!
In addition to the limbo, we had “trophies” for the best Island Attire. This was probably the most fun of all! Check out the outfits of these dudes!
The dude with the big straw hat got 1st place!! He was absolutely adorable!! He wore his hat, glasses, shirt, and grass skirt ALL day and night! Congrats Tony! You are a great sport! Can’t wait to see you next year!
As for the My Digital Studio portion of this posting… when everyone arrived, I took their photo at my “Photo Spot” and I have now created a 12 x 12 commemorative page/photo for each couple that came to the party! Here is a sample!
It was a great time and plans are already under way for next year’s bigger and better bash! I have already designed next year’s invitation!!! lol
