Happy Monday everyone! Today’s MDS Monday theme is Shades of Blue! How fitting for me right now! Next week at this time I will be sailing on the mighty blue Pacific Ocean aboard the Celebrity ship Infinity – en route to Alaska!!!
I know that father’s day is coming up pretty quick so I thought I would use this week’s theme, an awesome stamp set available in our current Summer Mini Catalog, and the fact that you may need a father’s idea to create this adorable and SIMPLE project!!
Although I created mine on My Digital Studio, you can easily create this same card using paper! My paper colors are Not Quite Navy and Marina Mist. The patterned papers are both Marina Mist and the ties are done using Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, and Bashful Blue!
I thought that since today’s theme was Shades of Blue, I would share a little personal something as well. Paul and I have been very involved in a community service project here in Plainfield. We have joined the Plainfield Business Association and are part of a group that is organizing a Pride in Plainfield event. As part of our efforts we were all on a mission to raise enough money to line the streets of our town with American Flags to show support for of those that have fought to make our country a great place to be! I am proud to say that we have raised most of the funds we needed and contributions are still coming in! We spent from 1:00 – almost 6:00 pm on Saturday putting up the flags! Here are a few pics I can share with you!
Me bringing another supply of flags to the crew! |
Group effort thanks to the volunteers of Moosup Fire Dept.! |
Some of the locations actually had to have trees cut back before we could hang! |
While I have your attention, I want to let you know that blog posts might be a little scattered next week because I am going to be cruising and I am not sure of the internet coverage while on the ship! I promise I will share everything that happens as soon as I can!
Great friend, Lance! He climbed that ladder more than 50 times to hang all of the flags! Thanks so much! |
