How is everyone today? I hope that your summer has been as enjoyable as mine! As I sit here writing today’s post I am dreading that there are only a couple more weeks before I have to head back to my full time job in the classroom! It took so long for summer to arrive and I don’t know about you but here in the NE US it has been very hot, humid and I like to say downright “soupy”. The thought of being trapped in a classroom with 30 kids and no air conditioning is not the least bit enticing!
Today I thought I would share another of my Blended Seasons projects. This stamp bundle is the focus of my upcoming classes on August 15th! I am holding a 9:30 am class and a 6:30 pm class on this same day!
My Project

Peek-a-Boo Velum – Blended Seasons Card
Details of the project
For the base of the card I used our thick whisper white cardstock cut 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and it is scored at 4-1/4″. I then cut a piece of regular whisper white cardstock at 4″ x 5-1/4″. On the smaller piece of white cardstock, using the largest stitched frame from the Blended Seasons framelits, I cut out the center of the piece of paper. (NOTE: Be sure to reserve the center piece because my next post will show you another project using that piece!)
I cut a piece of vellum cardstock 3-3/4″ x 5″ and placed it behind the cutout so that I could see where to place my image. Using Versamark ink and white embossing powder, I stamped and heat embossed the floral image on the vellum paper.
To make the beautiful floral images come to life, I put heavy strokes of Gorgeous Grape color, using our newly released Watercolor Pencils – Asst. #2! I then used a blender pen and pulled the color from the center – getting lighter as I got to the edge. I used the Granny Apple Green pencil for the leaves.
The project is finished off with a greeting stamped in Gorgeous Grape and punched with layering circle punches.
