Thanks for joining me today!  Today our hop is all about coloring!  For those that know me, you know that my favorite coloring tools are the incredible Stampin’ Blends!  They make me feel like an artist!  I love how you can layer color over color and totally change the look of your project.

Today is not only a blog hop day….it is the launch of the BRAND NEW 2021-2022 Annual Stampin’ Up! catalog too!  Today is the day that you can get your hands on brand new merchandise.  Do you love the new in colors? all of the new designer paper?  the new ribbons?  Have you ever heard of product shares?  I have several that I am offering!  Be sure to check out this link and get in on the action!  It is NOT too late!

My Project

Etched In Nature

My project today is created with a stamp set called, “Etched in Nature”.  Due to a few production issues this stamp set will not be available a the launch time of the catalog.  I decided to share it with you anyway because it showcases not only coloring with the blends but a technique that I call collage stamping.

While this is a simplified collage stamping card, layering colors creates a beautiful depth to your projects.  Fussy cutting the bird on the branch and popping it up with dimensionals add that much more dimension!  Measurements listed below.

You Can Make It Too!

  • Very (thick) Vanilla – Card Base – 4-1/4″ x 11″ – scored at 5-1/2″
  • Layer – Soft Succulent (new color) – 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Layer – Very Vanilla – 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Bird – Scrap piece of vanilla – stamp bird/branch with Momento ink and color as you’d like
  • Inks – Momento Black, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Cinnamon Cider
  • Blends – Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pale Papaya
  • Bling – Blue Adhesive Backed Gems

Collage stamping – ink up your large branch stamp with the pale papaya ink and stamp on the lower right portion of the top layer. Clean stamp, re-ink with the Succulent and turn the stamp slightly and stamp over the papaya.  Ink up the greeting with the Cinnamon Cider and stamp over the branches.  Ink up your bird/branch with Momento ink and color away!  I then fussy cut my bird/branch and used stamping dimensionals to pop it up!

Time to Hop On…
